Animations?

What type of animations are you guys thinking of doing? Things like stances, moves or what else? I could help out with some things if you need some stuff.

Well if you're good in making animations, I'd like you to do one thing, because I've been trying to do it for some time, but I'm doing something wrong. I would like it if you do a "Telekinesis" force, that will go instead of the Grip/Choke force. So could you make it so, that when I catch someone with the telekinesis he/she starts to wave with hands and legs and maybe if it isn't too difficult to be flipping in the air at the same time?

Well we have theRfiles working with us for animation and effects, but someone else will sure be accepted. We are trying to change some saber styles like you mentioned. il give you a list below of what we need to do, and if you have some ref pics of your work it would be nice biggrin

Melee animation(standing too)
Blue/red style animation
Jump animation(would be nice with something original)
push animation (i find his back bends to much forward)
healing animation
and weapon holding animations i find that in base jka he holds the weapon like a retard and doesnt seem to much interested in chooting the guy. so cool weapon hold animations would be great

I didnt add the choking animation nor the yellow stance since theRfiles is working on them

for the animation you can let go of your imagination, just make it fit Example making a 360 to push someone wouldnt fit.
But if you need help dont hesitate to ask and we will give you ideas. biggrin

Hey guys. I wasn't looking to join the team really. I was just seeing if maybe I could help contribute something to help you guys along.

For some of those animations I'll need to get minilogoguys tools working first. Right now I can do simple animations and edit existing ones.

When you say blue/red style animations are you meaning making new regular swings or special moves? Swings doesn't seem really necessary and are extremely hard/long to do. What type of heal animation are you looking for? It would only apply to heal lvl 1 and the player couldn't move or it would end so it would have to be stationary. I could try that for you.

FOr the red and blue just a stance, i finbd the base stance are too basic and i hate the way he bends his back in the stances, but not the yellow someone is working on it. For healing well your not oblige to do it, and if it can only be done with level 1 we might aswell forget it. And if you offer your help for the team well i bet it wouldnt mind you grant the developer team, we need people in animation

im still wondering where serenity's gone wacko
Anyway, can some1 help me with Dragon, i managed to do everything ok, until well, it doesnt seem to work ingame- when i try the animation it just makes the "Da vinci" shape and back to walking animation

Stuff like stances isn't really that hard. But making complete animations is probably the most difficult thing to do for JKA.

If you want some help over Dragon bliznez, or anyone else, you can ask me. I have a good feel for how to do most things but I'm not the definitive source or anything. Just tell me what you did and I'll see where it went wrong. It might be easier to post your questions in a new thread so that questions and answers don't get mixed up or ignored.

I'll do those two stances for you guys. What do you want them to be like? Practical or showy, or do you have a specific Sith Lord stance in mind?

well i like your blue and red stance, we could use them for the mod if you dont mind, the two saber stand too is amazing. so if you want i can give you some work. Would you be able to make a new running with duel staff saber for darth maul, where he would hold his saber sort of behind him like in battlefront 2?

so here is a list of the ones i like which you have already made

red/blue stance first page
Jk run v2
pistol run
rifle run
rifle shooting
blaster shooting
back hand saber (for when we have the secret apprentice)
Back hand run
and the duel sabers from first page

those are amazing, do you think you could make some back hand attacks with sabers? But only if it isnt too demanding for you. Like your work you are very talented and you are now part of the team. Thanks

So a BFII run for the staff, and the dual, blue and red on the first page. Yeah I can put those together for you. Do you want me to add breathing? For the pistol and rifle runs the problem is that they overwrite Both_run1 which is used for ALL the guns, no weapon, and saber unlit. So they really need code to work properly.

As for swings, not right now. I can make a swing no problem; the thing is that the transitions and spins would be complex as well as saber locks and such. I haven't done anything even close to lock animations.

Yes breathing could be very nice and if the running doesnt work well for now then we can wait to see how it can come out.

So if you dont mind would there be a way you could arrange a file like this

rifle shooting
blaster shooting
back hand saber (for when we have the secret apprentice)

it would be very nice. Just a question though you say pistol run affects everythig, but does backhand saber run affects everything or only when you have a backhand?

The backhand run also effects whatever saber style I attach it to. So if I put it on the single saber then it would be used by blue/yellow/red stances. I think the battlefront run I have looks good with the staff and backhand sabers. I double check it.

The shooting animations have to be released with JKE before they become open for everybodies use. After that then its all good. I think I may even go back and improve them a little.

So I'll get to work on the other things: stances w/ breathing, and the runs.
