It will be possible to make and implement animations for attaching and detaching duals into staffs!
The last method I tried didn't work so I posted the question to filefront and got a working answer. I tried putting taunt infront of the saber and it will play. All I have to do is make sure it is timed correctly so that a saber doesn't disappear to early.
The bind looks like this:
bind j "taunt; wait 20; saber kyle kyle"
So I'll start thinking up some animations and hopefully get something in the works soon.
