Quote (katanamaru)

I don't know what you mean with numbers after the _humanoid folder. Could you describe that a little more please?

What I do is make a new _humanoid folder for the character I'm going to mod. I'll name this new folder "_humanoid_vader."
The I put the animevents.cfg, animation.cfg, and the new _humanoid.gla I want to use in there. Then rename the humanoid.gla to "_humanoid_vader.gla."
Now I open the model.glm and _humanoid_vader.gla with a hex editor and change the reference path to "models/players/_humanoid_vader/_humanoid_vader."
Save, zip, play.

Hex editor? surprised which one do u use?
So, all u need to do is change the reference in Model file?
Because i thought it was in the .npc File- well, thanx, i'll reflect on that wink
So, this way we can give stormtrooper class even to the weird looking-like- plants creatures with even more weird skeletons- Yeaaaah! twisted

I'll check which one when I get home.
I don't know about skeletons other than humanoids. Since to make the animations we need Dragon. The theory is sound, but if we can't load up something like a rancor into Dragon then we can't make animations for it.

The hex editor is HxD. It's web site is www.mh-nexus.de
I have a portable version that works fine.

I got all the SA movement animations done. So I'll try and send it out for people to test and critique after the weekend. This weekend I'm going out of town to an anime convention so I can't post it then.

After that I'll either finish up Vader's stances and movements or I'll start on SA's force animations. Sound off to which you would like to see first!
Any ideas what Vader's run should look like? I'm working on his walk but can't think of an original run for him. If I can't decide on something then I'll just keep the default run.

Sorry but that isn't possible without the sp code. Only because the run back that the sabers use is the same. If I could make the run back different for every style then I could combine the backhand and regular stances.

Right now I made the run back work for the backhand sabers and the regular sabers. So if two keys are bound to a backhand saber and a regular saber it is possible to switch between the sabers that way. If you watch the JAU trailers that is how they do it. At least the ones I've seen. I'll try to upload what I have tomorrow or this week.

Hey, I've tried to do this with the individual animations, but when I change the reference path in the model.glm file, and I open it with modview after that, it gives me this error:

I've tried with several different hex edditors and the result is the same. What should I do?

Windu: How do they call you, boy?
Anakin: Ani.
Windu: Ani? Ain't that a girl's name?

Oh, lol its Easy- open The glm file with notepad, and in first line u see the path like models/players/_humanoid blah blah blah.....
As long as you are good with notepad wink just change the path and save it.
I thought everyone can hack files like that ))))

Oups, sorry for the deleted post. Anyways, it opened. But when I made it and opened it in modview it said:
"R_LoadMDXM: models/players/malak.glm has wrong version (538976262 should be 6)"

Maybe the heirarchy is wrong for mod view? Try putting it in game and testing it that way. I never tried it in mod view so I don't know if it works or not. Yeah I thought the notepad method might work but I never tested it so thanks for the info Bliznez.

Hey Bliz, how you doin with the Vader animations? Goin ok?

hmmmmm, thats really weird i mean, i didnt try it myself, but its obvious, that when u go to the line where it tells you the path and you change it, that should be it, right?
At least i think so, didnt try it myself yet

Does it give you an error message in the console when you are in game? It did for me a few times until I got it right. If you are using notepad I don't know if you should highlight the old model path and overwrite it or try deleting the old path and writing the new one in. That's why I used the hex editor, I know the placements by their coordinates where to start.

Didn't have that happen to me. What model are you trying to do this with? I'll give it a shot with the notepad method and the hex method and see how it turns out.
